The regulatory sandbox

As the world’s first GDPR-territory data protection Sandbox, the ICO’s Regulatory Sandbox aims to benefits organisations and the ICO alike. If participating in the Sandbox will provide organisations with increased confidence in their products, consumer trust, and a chance to develop innovative data protection projects for public benefit, the IOC will see the Sandbox as a means to demonstrate that data protection legislation is not a barrier to proportionate sharing of personal data and promote responsible and lawful data sharing in the wider public interest.
