Use your inner ‘big’ child to implement the age appropriate design code

The IOC’s Age Appropriate Design Code came into force in 2021 and set out 15 principles that must be complied with by relevant organisations. A 3 step approach can be adopted by information society services providers around the world processing the personal data of children in the UK to assess whether their products and services will need to comply with the Code. Implementation of this Code and of its principles is left to the relevant organisations who, by keeping in mind their inner child, should be able to put in place necessary safeguards for children, while accommodating their own commercial goals.
